2ndly find a teacher is equally passionate to teach you & but not to prolong only earn money
3rdly Regular practice is required and morever right way & techniques to learn. You can learn via online as well, but lot of mistakes go by, which a teach can only correct!

its a personal preference , most of my students found that thin picks are better for them. a thin plectrum will bend when you will be strumming. for me thin picks are better because i like the percussive sound of thin picks over harder ones. also it makes it easier for me to strum at high speed. its just a personal choice, you can try both and then decide which suits you.
