It varies from the perceptivity of each kid.. some kids have perfect pitching at the age of 2! But then they might not be able to remember the swaras.. it's a good idea to teach them some small simple songs.. as they grow older, about the age of 4, they now have a better memory and we can start regular classes. The goal is to make sure they don't loose the interest to learn music in that period, hence the training..

Thillana is a Rhythm based composition usually sung at the end of a music concert or a dance performance. The compositions mainly follow rhythm patterns with varying complexity and generally has one charana with meaningful lyrics based on a diety or a description of thillana according to the composers choice.
