The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level board of education in India, which was first set up in 1962. The board is managed and controlled by the Union Government of India, and there are roughly 20,299 CBSE affiliated public and private schools in the country. Schools affiliated to the CBSE are bound to follow the syllabus prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
