I'm just pursuing MCA & I'm in last year. I want a good career in animation and graphics so what do I have to learn and also how do I learn that and also tell me at where I will get 6th month internship training regarding mentioned programs?
Man, you must be overwhelmed by all the answers. I would recommend you do NOTHING BUT RESEARCH right now. Everyone has their own opinion, but you need to decide what you want to do and why. Now comes the most crucial part. WHY? Why do you want to do Animation or Graphics? Are you into Video games, Animes, Cartoons or VFX movies? Or did you hear from some friend or relative that Animation is good with Loads of money to be made? If it's the latter, forget about the whole thing. Animation takes a lot of time to learn and as much hard work as MCA or MBA or any discipline for that matter. And don't think of going to an institute for counselling as the counsellors some sales girls will show you footage of Bahubali or a Hollywood VFX movie and wash your mind and cost you lakhs. Trust me; I've been there, and so has many of my countless students. Research on your own and then make a decision. I hope it helps.

Before you get into animation and waste your money, first understand what is animation. Do it only if you have the passion.
The animation is a part of movie making and advertisement. It is widely used in various fields.
Like 3D and 2D movies, advertisement, gaming, VFX, nowadays it also used in medical, automobile, architecture, interiors etc..
For example, if There talks about movies, then there are different stages in movie making: pre-production, production and post-production.
In pre-production, you will learn about story development, scriptwriting, storyboarding, character design, background painting, concept art.
Then Animation. - there are different types of animation, # 2D animation #3D animation, # Stop motion, # motion graphics.
In 3D animation is divided into different stages -
Modelling, Texturing, lighting, rigging, animation.
Then VFX. dynamics
Editing.
Software is just a tool. So focus on creativity if you learn only software like Photoshop, Illustrator and Maya. Then you will be stuck at some point.
Research more and more. Take your time. It's a matter of your career ones you enter you spend your whole life.
Understand everything and choose 1 group and do specialization in it.
I hope this helps. ALL THE BEST😊
Hi Sachin,
To into animation, you have to learn some software widely used in industry like:
Software Why it is used?
Photoshop: Graphic Designs, Texturing for models, Logo, Image manipulation, Art for 2d game
Illustrator: Graphics Designer, Vector based art, art for 2d game
After Effects: Motion Graphics, Game Trailers,VFX, Compositing
Nuke: VFX
MAYA,3ds Max,Blender: 3D software which includes modelling,texturing,rigging,animation
These are possible options for you. There are many institutes which provide short term, long term courses based on this software and skills. You choose according to your interest.
The best thing is you learn the basic drawing and perspective first. From any reputed art school or college. Otherwise, only technical knowledge wouldn't make you creative or unique. After the underlying sense of art is grown, every awesome thing is possible whether it's commercial or creative .
thanks a lot, Riyank
take care
