I would like to learn german- this is just a start up for me as i just know a jist of german language.. my question here is - i know it differs on person to person but still if we are indulged in the language how many months does it take to become fluent?
It depends how much time you can spend and what's your learning capability too. There are total 7 Laval of german: A1, A2, B1, B2.1, B2.2, C1 and C2. You will become fluent after doing B2.2. So for each Laval you need to study atleast 3 months. If you will learn for atleast 2 hours a day. I hope I am clear with that.

You need to watch movies, listen to songs, read and listen to news, radio and you can join forums to speak. Speak to your classmates and teachers as much as you can bevabec they're the only one who could talk to you in German. If you have German friends, Brownie points then!! Alles Gute! :D

Hi,
GUTENTAG! First of all, congrats on your decision to learn GERMAN which is a wonderful language. To be Proficient in this language will take real will-power and efforts from your end. Rest, everything depends on your pick up level, retention & practise. Time has it's own limits but put together with your willingness to grab the language & a great mentor who can guide you throughout your journey, it becomes easier and efficient. Nobody can say what future has in store for us!
With rigorous practice and if you're lucky join a community of localites or GERMAN (DEUTSCH) SPEAKING FRIENDS all the time, you might even be in a position to grab the language, say, within 8 months - 1year! Nothing in this world is impossible! So, give it your best shot & go for it.
I've seen one of my friend's student from KOLKATA, who is a surgeon & is now working in Germany after learning the language within a year!
Wish you ALL THE BEST! Take care.
Regards,
Trainer
read lessIf one talks about speaking fluent German then it totally depends upon how much time you are contributing to your studies.
If by just studying once or twice in a week you want to have a command on the language then it becomes quite difficult for you.
You should atleast add 2-3 hrs per day to your schedule to have certain control on the language.
Each level will take approximately 2-2.5 months to have a better comand on German language.
Lerning any language is not at all difficult, it all depends on your concentration and contribution.
