GMAT Integrated Reasoning Section
The Integrated Reasoning Section was added on June 5, 2012. There are 12 questions with 30 minutes time to answer. In this section, the way a candidate analyzes the data and interprets the information is given more importance as in today’s world, business revolves around text, numbers or graphics. questions given in the paper are various data collected from different sources.
A GMAT test taker should have the following capabilities to solve the IR section with ease:
a) Derive substantial information from graphics, texts and numbers.
b) Evaluating the same information from different sources
c) Arrange information to derive conclusive solutions to given problems
d) Combining and permuting provided data/information to solve problems
Total time for IR: 30 minutes
Total number of questions in IR: 12
The IR section of GMAT exam contains four kinds of questions:
a) Table Analysis
b) Graphics Interpretation
c) Multi-Source reasoning
d) Two parts Analysis
The table above shows sales statistics and description of 20 bathroom cleaners of U.S. for the year 2010. Based on it, test takers are to answer the following set of questions.
Consider each of the following statements about these sales figures. For each statement, indicated whether the statement is true or false, based on the information provided in the table.
State True or False:
1. The product with the highest unit sales is 2010 also had the highest dollar increase in price since 2009.
2. Every orange scented product experienced growth in unit sales from 2009 to 2010.
