All about the A2 PROGRAM:
What You Will Achieve After Finishing the A2 Level:
You'll be able to understand sentences and common expressions associated with topics directly related to your circumstances (e.g. personal information or information about your family, shopping, work, immediate surroundings).
Youâ??d be able to make yourself understood in simple, routine situations dealing with a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and common topics. Youâ??d be able to describe your background and education, immediate surroundings and other things associated with immediate needs in a simple way.
Programme Overview:
A2 has 12 modules that will build on what you learned during A1 and continue to cement your knowledge and ability to apply German in day-to-day situations.
You will visit new themes around everyday German life and be able to express yourself with more vocabulary and new grammar tools.
The A2 level focuses primarily on training you to support or extend a main clause by following it up with a subordinate clause that reveals something more about the main clause. This lets you build sentences that are more interesting and real.
Other skills you will add during A2 are how to talk about the past, asking indirect questions and the passive voice.
Methodology:
German can get quite overwhelming what with its multitude of grammar rules and exceptions, hence I use techniques that make the learning fun and personal by relating it to the student.
Wherever possible, I draw forth from my personal experiences while travelling in German-speaking Europe to make the content more relatable.
I keep my content a mix of grammar lessons, little breaks to do speaking role-play, as well as reading & listening comprehension exercises.
Additionally, I provide hand-outs, illustrations, online exercises and notes on specific grammar concepts.
