It all drills down to what field you are excited about. There are two ways to go about it. One is learning a language like a python, java, .Net and get into code development. Another way is to learn a tool and the concepts around it. I personally feel it's an easier approach for non it people. That doesn't mean you don't have to work hard. For example, learning BI tools, you'll need to learn SQL, Datawahouse concepts, data modelling and then finally the tool. Same goes with ETL tools.
So my suggestion here goes with the concepts and SQL first, then approach any BI tool like Tableau or Power BI. All the best and happy learning.
