Spoken English

"I am working abroad and I had some trouble speaking English. I spent a lot of time looking for a tutor who could take my English speaking ability to another level. Finally I found Srilatha ma'am. I have been working with her for a few weeks, mainly for conversational practice and improvement in spoken English. My goal is to be more fluent and she is excellent. She has significant experience in teaching English and facilitating personal development. If you work abroad it is very difficult to cope up with Indian timings. But she adjusted her timings and is conducting the classes early morning at 5 o’clock. This isn't always the case with some other tutors. It shows how much she is dedicated towards her job. She is an excellent tutor. She is patient and explains things very clearly and makes sure you understand. I feel much more confident in speaking English after our sessions. I know how hard it is to make the working personnel do the work and keep him interested at the same time, but she was able to do it from the very start. I really appreciate her patience and friendly approach to others. She has been working with me on speaking, reading and writing. I am amazed with the selection of books that she uses for reading practice. We keep discussing them in our class. She has great energy, each session is like a performance. I see that I have overcome my fear of speaking English, become more organized and started to express my thoughts in English. I definitely plan to keep working with her until I gain my full confidence. She is simply the best tutor I have ever had. I have learnt more in an hour than in all my other classes combined. If you want to be taught, you'll learn a TON! "

Phonics

"We sent our 5 year old kid for Phonics and found Sri Latha to be very good. Her way of handling and making the class lively with activities is really useful for the kids for overall personality development. I would recommend her if anyone looking for phonics & life skills. "

Have you attended any class with Srilatha?

Hello Pushkaraj, if you want to do one to one tuitions , the best approach is the understand where your student stands and go from there. I found from my experience taking sessions that study material doesn't provide much scope for improving fluency. Explain the basics of forming correct sentences to your students, which should take no more than 10% of your agreed time. Have the student speak during the remaining time, bringing the attention to the mistakes happening and having the students apply what you've taught. Also, internet is a vast resource. So encourage your students to practice as much as possible from the net and come back with doubts so that you can clarify them. Spoon-feeding doesn't work because fluency in speaking comes from day-to-day conversations than from studying some pre-designed material.

A discussion is a mutual exchange of ideas, thoughts and opinions with an open mind and the intention of understanding each others' perspective and moving forward in a relation. An argument is a one-sided rant where a person is closed to others' opinions and thoughts.

Generally, it is a good idea to interact with the child and find why s/he doesn't want to eat and what they would like to eat rather than forcing them to eat what you want them to. You can interact even with small children. Start with what they like and then try increasing the mix.
