There are lot of books which will tell a story for that kanji or some explanation based on the character. Or else you can make your own story which will help you memorise it.

Imagine easy picture with a kanji in your mind as it is said by others also that is a pictorial script. So that with the same imagination one can connect the Kanji and can remember it easily.

Try to connect it with some pictures .

Writing and reading Kanji like a native can be very satisfying, but it requires great deal of practice and patience. Surely there are number of ways to remember Kanji, like, flashcards and others, but in my opinion the best way to remember is writing and applying the Kanji that you have learnt so far in texts that you write. Writing by hand is the best way to remember. Suppose you are writing "It is raining." and in the sentence you only know the Kanji of rain, so you write rain in Kanji and rest in hiragana.." ?????????” like this you write. When you study the kanji of ?????? then you use that Kanji instead of hiragana. This way eventually you will remember the vast Kanji list. Hope that helps read less

There are online tests which use this method you can search for these tests on the internet. Secondly once you are thru with the basic kanjis you will observe that the difficult kanjis are made from the simple kanjis only. For example kanji of akarui has is made from kanji of day and month or sun and moon. so you learn kanji of akarui as sun and moon toghether= kanji of akarui.
