Both the languages has a wide market presence, Java has larger market share if you really compare. 

Basics of programming that you learn will be same for any language. It is just that one language will be more suitable for a use case and other will be less suitable. Also if you are a job seeker, find out which firms are using which language majorly and go accordingly. 

Like I said go with which you seem easy for you to dive deeper into. That is all that matters.

why can't we create an object for abstract class? why wait,notify,notifyall methods were in object class but not in thread class?
Abstract class is having an abstract method. It is empty method, created for future requirements, therefore usage is not certain by specifying objects to it.
