It depends on what Subject you're going to do. If you are a music teacher, then it's not needed. But if they are pre-primary, then you will require a lot more that just a whiteboard.
And yes, you can use your phone. They say it's better on a computer, but I would say it not needed. Just try to get a stand for your phone to be stable.

Start studying as soon as you have the material.
It's not easy but find to will power and make a time management plan for yourself.
If the exam is a long way off, then take out 1-2 hours per day from your busy life.
Hope that helps you out. Easier said than done but you have to push yourself if you want to get that done.
