Tense – Present and Future tense

GOT – Past tense of GET

Examples:

1.Can I get you anything?

2.Get me a pen

In the above examples, “get” means “to bring”

 

3.Get the information from Ravi.

In the above sentence “get” means “to obtain”

 

4.I will get good marks next time – will + get – future tense

In this example , “get” means “score”

 

GOT – Past Tense

1.I got good marks

In this example – “got” means “score”

 

2.I got a scholarship to pursue higher studies

   In the above example – “got” means “receive”

 

3.I got second prize in singing competion

In the above sentence - "got" means "secure"

 

"get" and "got" are used in a informal way. When it comes to Business Communication,recommend to use appropriate synonyms(consider the words in bold)
