A – Hello Deepak

B – Hi Sanjeev. How have you been?

A – Not too good.

B – Why?

A – I’m sick.

B – Sorry to hear that.

Lesson – 14 (Introducing a friend)

A – Deepak, this is my friend, Sanjeev.

B – Hi, nice to meet you.

A – Nice to meet you too.

B – Sanjeev, What do you do for work?

A – I’m a doctor.

B – oh. Where do you work?

A – ABC hospital in XYZ city. What do you do?

B – I’m a teacher.

A – What do you teach?

B – I teach English.

A – Where?

B – At a high school in Delhi.

A – That’s nice. How old are you?

B – I’m 30.

A – It’s ok. It’s not serious.

B – That’s good. How’s your wife?

A – She’s good.

B – Is she in America now?

A – No, she’s not here yet.

B – Where is she?

A – She is in Canada with our kids.

B – I see. I have to go now. Please tell your wife I said hi.

A – Ok. I’ll talk to you later.

B – I hope you feel better.

Lesson – 15 (Buying a shirt)

A – Excuse me.

B – Hello Sir, may I help you?

A – Yes. Can I see that shirt on the top shelf please?

B – Sure. Here it is.

A – How much does it cost?

B – 50 Dollars.

A – 50 Dollars. That’s too much.

B – How about this one? It’s on sale for only 35 dollars.

A – I don’t like that one.

B – How about the one next to the blue jeans? It’s very similar to the one you like.

A – That’s nice. How much is it?

B – 30 Dollars.

A – That’ll be fine.

B – Is this color Ok, or would you like a different color?

A – That blue one is fine.

B – Do you need any more of these shirts?

A – Yes.

B – How many do you want?

A – I’ll take two more, a red one and a white one.

Lesson – 16 (Asking about Location)

A – Excuse me, I’m looking for the Holiday Inn. Do you know where it is?

B – Sure. It’s down this street on the left.

A – Is it far from here?

B – No, It’s not far.

A – How far is it?

B – About a mile and a half.

A – How long does it take to get there?

B – 5 minutes or so.

A – Is it close to the subway station?

B – Yes, It’s very close. The subway station is next to the hotel. You can walk there.

A – Thanks a lot.

Lesson – 17 (Do you know the address?)

A – Excuse me. Do you know how to get to the mall?

B – Sure, I used to work there. Go straight for about a mile, then turn left at the light. The mall will be on the right.

A – Do you know the address?

B – Yes, the address is 541 main street.

A – Can you write it down for me please?

B – No problem.

A – Is it faster if I take highland avenue?

B – No, That way is longer. There are more stop lights on that street.

A – I think you are right. Thank you.

Lesson – 18 (Vacation to Canada)

A – What’s today’s date?

B – It’s July 5th.

A – When are you going on vacation?

B – I’m leaving on Sunday. We are going to Canada.

A – Really? The day after tomorrow? That’s very soon.

B – Yeah I know.

A – How long are you going to stay there?

B – About 2 weeks.

A – When are you coming back?

B – I’m coming back on the 17th.

A – Alright. Have a nice trip.

Lesson – 19 (Who is that woman?)

A – Deepak, Who is that woman?

B – That’s Jia.

A – What does she do for work?

B – She is a lawyer.

A – Is she American?

B – No, but she speaks English fluently.

A – She is really tall. Do you know her?

B – Yes. I know her. We are friends.

A – Who’s that man standing next to her?

B – Which man?

A – That short guy on her right. What’s his name?

B – Oh, that’s Shubham.

A – He is really good looking.

B – yeah

A – Do you know him?

B – I don’t know him. But I think my sister does.

A – Is he married?

B – Yes, he’s married.

A – I remember now. I met him before.

Lesson – 20 (Common questions)

A – Deepak, do you know how to speak English?

B – Yes

A – Where did you learn?

B – I learned in College.

A – You speak really well.

B – Thank you.

A – How long have you been in the US?

B – 3 weeks

A – Is your wife with you?

B – Yes, She just got here yesterday.

A – Have you been to California before?

B – No, I have never been there.

A – Have you ever been to Las Vegas?

B – Yes. I went there once on a business trip.

Lesson – 21 (The Super market is closed)

A – Deepak, I’m going to the supermarket. Do you want to come with me?

B – I think the supermarket is closed now.

A – Oh, when does it close?

B – It closes at 7 O’clock on Sundays.

A – That’s too bad.

B – Don’t worry, we can go tomorrow morning. It opens at 8:00.

A – Alright. What do you want to do now?

B – Lets take a walk for a half an hour. My sister will get here at about 8:30PM and then we can all go out to dinner.

A – Where does she live?

B – She lives in San Francisco.

A – How long has she lived there?

B – I think she’s lived there for about 10 years.

A – That’s a long time. Where did she live before that?

B – San Diego.
