Yes, you can practice yoga at night. Many yoga practices like gentle stretches, deep breathing, Yoga nidra, and shavasana are calming and soothing. All these practices shift your body to parasympathetic and help improve sleep quality.

Ashtanga - "Ashta" means eight and "anga" means parts. As per the Patanjali yoga sutra, there are 8 stages. Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Prathyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi. Ashtanga - "Ashta" means eight and "anga" means parts. As per the Patanjali yoga sutra, there are 8 stages. Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Prathyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi. To progress in the path of yoga one must follow these stages one by one under the guidance of a guru/ teacher. This Ashtanga yoga is also called Raja yoga. And don't confuse this Ashtanga yoga(Raja yoga) with the Ashtanga style of yoga by pattabi jois.

Yes, Yoga will make you fit both physically and mentally. Yoga practices like asanas, kriyas, and pranayamas when done under the proper guidance of a teacher you will reap maximum benefit from the practice.
