There are many challenges and addressing these challenges requires a balanced approach that respects linguistic diversity, promotes equitable opportunities for speakers of all languages, and fosters a sense of inclusion and unity within India's multicultural framework. Non-Hindi-speaking regions often view the promotion of Hindi as a threat to their regional identity and autonomy. This can fuel regionalism and weaken the sense of national unity Proficiency in Hindi is often associated with better educational and job opportunities, creating disparities between Hindi and non-Hindi speakers. This can lead to a sense of disenfranchisement among those who do not speak Hindi. After independence, Hindi was promoted as a national language to foster unity. However, this was met with resistance from non-Hindi-speaking states, which saw it as an imposition on their linguistic and cultural identity. read less

In fact Hindi is considered as “national language" only in few states. Some other states, thay have given the status of “official language”, couple of states in the south still not even recognised Hindi with any Importance.

Yes, ofcourse Hindi language is been proposed & even announced as a ‘national language'’ in the parliament, but with lots conditions & riders., as it's not compulsory to comply with for states.

Indian democracy may be suffering because of so many other reasons every now and then , but not because of “Hindi supremacy
