We cannot deny the fact that writing is the most important module of IELTS. There are multiple ways through which we can improve our writing. In this essay, I will highlight some of the errors which a candidate often make while attempting an Essay in IELTS. First and foremost factor which a student should consider is, grammar. Usually, it is seen that students do some common mistakes as like putting ‘s’ where there is plural subject and forget to put "s" with singular subject. Apart from it, they mainly write in active language instead of passive language. That’s why, they do not get good bands as they expect. Moreover, I personally believe that many of the times data is given in past but they opine in present and even they do not bother about future wherever there are projections.
Secondly, the problem which I have encountered while making corrections in writing Essay of students is: Spelling. Spellings are also the major problem which is usually done by Indian students. Due to their more inclination towards most of the people are writing emails in their day to day life which is often corrected by systems. Which ultimately has removed their habit of keeping words in their mind. Because of this, their bands get deducted. So, this is the huge requirement to work on it.
Thirdly, the another important aspect is their usage of active language instead of passive language. Most of the time, it is observed that they use active language which somewhere isn’t able to meet the expectations of examiner. A student should have complete knowledge about the usage of passive language. It can be improved by reading newspaper up to much extent.
Fourthly, the usage of good vocabulary is highly required in IELTS. The candidates who are studying, they are not able to put heavy words while writing an essay. Some of them have less knowledge about it and some do not take pains to work on it. On the other side, Professionals who are using English in their daily lives are quite familiar about them. At
the end note, it is completely apparent, the vast knowledge of words is highly required to crack the test with good bands.
Apart from it, it is manual exam so it’s very much important that you should have good handwriting. Because a candidate is going to represent his/her ideas through words that are written by his / her writing. So it is pretty much important to work on your handwriting also.
Furthermore, it is frequently seen that students start writing soon as they get the paper so in this way, usually they are not able to line out their ideas in sequence. It is highly advised that they should plan the topic first. Each and every paragraph is properly planned otherwise the things which are needed to put initially are written in the end which adversely effect on the band score.
To recapitulate, I would like to conclude my ideas by saying that all the above things should be taken into consideration while preparing or scoring well in IELTS.
