To test realistic form of English communication, Pearson conducts the PTE General exam, previously known as London Tests of English.
PTE General Exam Levels
There are six levels of the PTE General exam. All levels of PTE General exam are linked to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF).They are awarded by Edexcel and accredited by Ofqual in the UK.

PTE General Exam Sections
At all levels of PTE exam, there are two parts – Writing and Interview. Under writing, there are four sections:
The interview exam happens two weeks before the PTE General Written Exam.
The PTE General exam is conducted in the following months – May, June and December.
PTE General Exam fees
PTE General exam fees depend on the level of exam one takes up. For level 5, the exam fee is around $100.
PTE Scores
PTE General exam score never expires and are valid forever.
The PTE General exam score for two section is – Writing (75 marks) and Interview (25 marks).
PTE General Exam Registration
The registration for PTE General Exam happens in the official website of Pearson.
The registration of PTE exam is also possible from the Edexcel online home page, where there are two sections – Candidates and Results.
On successful registration, confirmation receipt of entries and a breakdown of the total entries per level are sent to the PTE General exam test taker on the following week.
The only way to pay the PTE General exam fees is by electronic bank transfer, a facility provided by local banks.
PTE General Test Day Highlights
Start by completing the “Attendance Register”.
All tests takers have to madatorily be in the PTE General test center for an hour.
Test takers are reminded about time limits only when the last 5-minutes is left.
All necessary information has to be entered in the written and supplementary exam sheets.
All rough work for PTE General exam are to be done on question paper.
